Annapurna Circuit Day 10: Yak Karka to Thorong Phedi

Day 10 started fairly leisurely at 8am for breakfast and an 8:30 start to the trek.

The trek itself was reasonably easy, following a path along the side of the valley before dropping down to a bridge over the leather river (direct translation from Nepalese) followed by a steep climb up the other side of the valley towards our final tea house.

The facilities at Thorong Phedi are very basic with no showers or wifi. There was no wood available either, so there was no heating in the dining area. At an altitude of nearly 4600m this meant it got very cold in the evening.

The afternoon had us climbing the path towards Thorong High Camp, in order to acclimatise to the altitude.

Due to recent heavy snow fall overnight, we needed to be up early in the morning to avoid particularly slippery conditions over the pass on the following day, so we retired to bed by 7:30pm.
