One of my favourite types of photography is portraiture. I love being able to capture the essence of a person while simultaneously experimenting with form and creating a story in my images, no matter how fleeting. Over the years I’ve done a fair bit of flash work, but never really much with natural light. That changed this weekend when I took the plunge and booked myself on a natural light workshop with the renound Mick Payton.
In six hours we worked on a number of different scenarios and got some wonderful shots of the lovely Sophia Blake, who is definitely recommended if you ever get the chance to work with her. The evidence of the day can be seen below.
Now that I’ve had a taste with natural light, it’s certainly something I shall be looking to work with more in the future.
